PENDLE residents are invited to have their say on plans for a new community venue in Nelson West.
The council has secured funding under the Government's Single Regeneration Budget Six programme to create a new project in the area between Carr Road and Manchester Road.
A session for men and women will be held from 2-6pm on Friday, April 20 at the Civic Theatre, in Nelson, and a women-only meeting will be held at the theatre, from 1-5pm, on Tuesday, April 24 when a female community advice worker from Pendle Council will attend to assist those with language difficulties.
Graham Nicholson, a consultant in leisure and cultural activities, has been commissioned to carry out the public consultation. He said: "We want to make sure that any facility will meet the needs of local residents. This may mean a new building or redeveloping an existing building."
John Kirk, the councils executive director of services, said: "The Civic Theatre meets some of the needs of the community but it is not completely satisfactory."
