A ROSSENDALE woman who went on a spree of deception to obtain goods with a stolen cheque book and card was sent to prison for a total of four months by magistrates at Rochdale.
Former hairdresser Angela Margaret Wallace, 27, of Pennine Road, Bacup, thanked the magistrates because they made the sentence concurrent with the nine months' custody she is serving at present from Burnley magistrates for a similar batch of deception offences.
At the Rochdale hearing the mother-of-two admitting handling a stolen cheque book and card stolen from a local travel agents, obtaining goods by deception from a petrol station and a newsagents to a total value of £88, and asked for 18 other offences of deception involving goods worth a total of £700 to be taken into consideration.
On her behalf, Mr Kevin Bamber, said the court had little option in view of the Burnley sentence but to impose custody but he hoped it would be for a period within the limit of Wallace's current term of imprisonment.
