A SENIOR officer from the major crime unit at Lancashire police headquarters, Det Chief Insp David Brian, is moving to the Pennine Division which covers Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
He commented: "Pennine is one of the area's best performing police divisions so I am delighted with my new post."
Mr Brian joined the force as a cadet 23 years ago.
A law graduate, he started his police career as a foot patrol officer in Preston before moving on to the drugs squad and then Preston CID.
He became sergeant in 1992 working in Skelmersdale before moving to the fraud squad and then to Fulwood on promotion to inspector in 1996.
He is 40 and lives with his wife and daughter in the Preston area. His hobbies include pike fishing and keeping fit.
