HAVING recently returned from the Middle East where flowers border the major roads at great expense, I was appalled and distressed at the wanton destruction of the daffodils on Buncer Lane, Blackburn.
Yet again, we have an example of the arrogance and indifference of Blackburn with Darwen Council which frequently acts without consultation of and with total disregard to the opinions and feelings of the majority.
Blackburn is not a pretty town. I wonder when this council will act with the same urgency as with the annihilation of the daffodils, to demolish the dilapidated buildings which adorn the two major thoroughfares into our town centre, namely Preston Old and Preston New Roads.
P SMITH (Mrs), Livingstone Road, Blackburn.
