May I wish a speedy recovery to senior referee David Price who picked up a nasty injury during a Blackburn Sunday League game at the weekend.

Mr Price, with more than 30 years expereince, was refereeing the Division Three clash between Sign and Poster and Stanley Arms.

The man in black was running backwards, as referees do, when he took a stumble and broke his wrist as he tried to break his fall.

The break was so bad that Mr Price will require pins to be put into his wrist and he was still in Blackburn Royal Infirmary on Monday evening.
