MIDFIELD dynamo Lee Clark hailed Fulham's last gasp victory at Ewood Park as one of his side's best performances of the season.

Sean Davis's injury time winner extended the Cottagers lead at the top of the table to a huge 16 points over Rovers in second.

And the former Newcastle United star pointed to Rufus Brevett's first half sending off as the moment which turned the tide in his side's favour.

"This is possibility our best result of the season given the circumstances in which it was achieved and the quality of the opposition," said Clark.

"To be fair to Blackburn, they came out as if they were on fire and they possibly could have been more than 1-0 up in that first half.

"But their goal gave us a bit of a slap and we started to play some football without really creating much. And the sending off then turned it, really.

"We got the goal through a bit of fortune and our second half performance, both defensively and attacking wise, was very good.

"When we came in at half-time the manager had demanded that we give that extra 10 or 15 per cent and we ran ourselves into the ground.

"But it's not over yet. Huddersfield will be fighting for their lives on Saturday.

"They'll battle for everything and not want a team celebrating promotion at their stadium.

"So we are totally focused. We're so close now we don't want to end up with egg on our face.

"We were lucky enough to get off to a terrific start and that's possibly why we are above Blackburn now.

"But they've got a terrific squad and probably in terms of numbers and quality they've got more than us.

"So I've got a lot of respect for them . The set-up is Premiership quality and so are most of their players so they'll bounce back from this."
