TWO fundraisers are looking for sponsorship to take them on a dream trip across the Himalayas.
Catherine Erwin, 31, and her partner Liam Murtagh, 32, from Brownhill Road, Blackburn, need to raise £2,200 for the charity Deaf Way to qualify for the trip. Half of the proceeds will be distributed to deaf organisations in Nepal and half to ones in England -- last year the project raised £60,000
The 20 people who qualify will camp along the Himalayas' foothills during the 10-day trip and visit deaf projects in Nepal.
Catherine, a social worker, said: "We have written to various companies to get the money before we pay our registration fee of £230 each. But they are all coming back and saying no. We have so far raised a grand total of nil. It is a chance of a lifetime for me, and I have also always wanted to go to India."
If you are interested in sponsoring the duo contact Catherine on 01254 247801.
