FROM time to time that epitome of New Labourism, James Sorah, pops up and treats us all to his special brand of spin.

Mr Sorah's latest offering on the axing of some school buses did very little to enlighten ordinary residents about the true facts.

His letter must have been compiled with the Labour Party's guide to spin in one hand and a dagger in the other.

He starts off as usual with a personal attack on Messrs Roscoe, Callow and Finlay and then proceeds to blame everyone for the current situation except his obvious friends in the Town Hall.

His letter tries to baffle residents by quoting past Acts and apportioning blame to previous governments.

It is interesting to note that Mr Sorah's letter confirms earlier statements from Coun Bancroft that bus services will continue until July. However, he goes even further and states that services will continue after the summer holidays.

It is interest to note that he is the only one who has given this guarantee. Does Mr Sorah, an unelected citizen in Blackpool, now officially speak for the council or is it that he is trying to grovel to the powers-that-be to let him stand for New Labour at the next local elections? Perhaps Mr Bancroft, Mr Essex-Crosby or other official will confirm to us that these services are guaranteed to continue from August onwards.
