DOOR staff who searched Stuart James Simpson as he tried to enter Utopia nightclub found an ecstasy tablet and some cannabis.
Simpson, 22, of Mill Hill Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty at Blackburn magistrates to possession of the drugs. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £45 costs.
Aftab Bakhat, defending, said Simpson had been on a stag do and had been encouraged to purchase the drugs.
"He will not touch ecstasy against because he thought it was a waste of money," said Mr Bakhat. "He is annoyed with himself for succumbing to peer group pressure."
