A TEENAGER was critically ill in hospital today after being involved in a head on motorcycle collision.
Darren Ross, 17, Robin Hey, Leyland, was riding his 125cc Yamaha motorbike along Schleswig Way when it collided with a Suzuki Bandit 600cc motorbike ridden by Stephen Cornes, of Townsway, Lostock Hall.
Mr Ross was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital suffering from serious head injuries while Mr Cornes suffered slight bruising.
Police say the collision occurred after Mr Ross had tried to overtake a vehicle on the road, which makes up part of Leyland's bypass.
