A GRADE two listed farmhouse at Newton-in-Bowland has been given the go-ahead to add a timber garage door and internal mezzanine floor for storage space in the coach house.
Ribble Valley Council planners told the committee that Lowlands Farmhouse, in Slaidburn Road, was classed as a listed building but felt the alterations would not detract from the character of the existing building and would, in fact, serve to enclose the coach house and hide the contents.
The mezzanine flooring is to be installed in the roof space to create a storage facility.
In granting permission, members of the planning committee asked that, before installation, precise details and specifications of the proposed up-and-over-door be submitted to and agreed by the planning department.
