LEIGH powerlifter Mark Woodcock is aiming for another crack at the British Championship in June after an outstanding display in last weekend's Manchester Powerlifting Championships.
Mark, who trains under the coaching of Martin Lydon at Leigh's Flex Gym, is getting back to his best after a two-year absence through injury and a spell abroad. He finished with a 240k squat, 120k bench press and a 230k deadlift to give him a 590k winning total in the 67.5k bodyweight class.
Mark, of Orchard Lane, is remains unbeaten in the North West for eight years and has set his sights on going one better than his second place in the 1996 British Championship.
