STAFF and residents at a Leigh nursing home are waging war against cancer by putting on the kettle. BUPA's Bedford Nursing and Residential Home are taking part in the Marie Curie cancer care tea pot challenge on Thursday April 26 at 11am. Home manager Sheila Leyland said: "Something so simple, like enjoying a cup of tea, can help raise thousands of pounds for such a vital charity."
Marie Curie cancer care works to improve the quality of life of cancer sufferers by providing free nursing at home, specialist care at Marie Curie Centres and through research.
