A RECRUITMENT agency has pledged to offer supply teachers in Manchester and Merseyside on top pay rates and bonuses in a bid to make sure schools have classroom cover.
Reed Education Professionals will pay North West supply teacher nationally agreed rates and offer them a bonus of up to £774, once they complete a full term.
Teacher salaries are currently determined by their progress up to a nine-point Common Pay Spine.
A top of the scale, point nine, supply teacher will earn £127.40 per day through Reed and will receive a bonus of up to £774 at the end of each complete term worked.
