FOR the past six years Chris Watts has taken on the tough lone task of organising the mammoth Leigh Royal British Legion Poppy Day Appeal.
He has put together thousands of boxes of poppies and delivered collection boxes to schools, pubs, clubs and shops throughout the area.
Now thanks to an appeal from the county field officer, Graham Pierce, he could be in line for some help. As the leading charity concerned with the welfare of the ex-service community the RBL is seeking to recruit volunteers to assist with the co-ordination of welfare and the annual poppy appeal.
Anyone willing to spare a few hours a week, month or even year to the appeal would be appreciated.
Further information is available from him on 01925 244719 or from Chris on 07932 451486.
