ENTERPRISING students at Bedford High School have shown how to successfully blend business acumen with the honest desire to help others.

We report today how, as part of a thorough preparation for life in the big, wide world, a group of students, led by half a dozen youthful directors, formed their own company and hit on the idea of manufacturing a rain sensor to help those with visual impairment know what to expect when they step outside.

A brilliant idea which earned them a Young Enterprise award. Well done!

AN African glow will bring a true Spring feel to our midst next week when Zulu culture comes to town.

African folklore, music and dance and a reminder of the once feared might of the Zulu warrior will be displayed in the local leg of the The Mighty Zulu Nation tour.

The Zulus will perform next Thursday at Leigh Miners Club, the scene of some epic industrial and sporting battles.

It promises to be an interesting night. Be there!
