SALE and England Under-21 skipper Alex Sanderson has signed a new contract keeping him at Heywood Road until at least the end of next season.
The 21-year-old from Rossendale -- who missed a large chunk of this season with a neck injury -- was reportedly being tracked by Newcastle.
The news is a boost to coach Jim Mallinder who was desperate to get Sanderson, who has been tipped as a future England captain, tied to the club.
