The Whalley-born midfielder, who now lives in Lower Darwen, looks set to line-up against Rovers for the first time in his career.

And he admits he risks the wrath of his mates if he was to pop up and score the winner against the team he has supported since childhood.

"A lot of my friends have asked me what would I do if it was 0-0 and I was clean through in the last minute," said Holland.

"But I'd have to try and stick it away because I'm a professional and I'm paid to do my best for Huddersfield.

"We've got a big weekend coming up with Fulham at home today then a trip to Ewood on Monday and we desperately need the points.

"But the Blackburn game is a special one for me because I've supported Rovers all my life and I'm going to be playing in front of my home crowd.

"I've never played against them in the league before and it's going to be strange because a lot of my friends are going to be in the crowd supporting Rovers.

"Obviously, I'd love to see them get promoted too but I'm Huddersfield player and I'll be trying to do my best for them on Monday. "So, if we were to win, then I think I'll have to go into hiding.

"But I'm really looking forward to it -- it should be a great occasion."

Both teams are desperate for the points for different reasons but Holland is confident the Terriers will beat the drop if they continue to show the kind of attitude they've shown to haul themselves off the bottom of the table.

"If you'd asked me around Christmas time I would have said we were certainties to go down," said Holland.

"But Lou Macari has come in which has given everyone a lift and we've now got a fighting chance of staying up.

"He's introduced a new formation where we try to hit teams on the break.

"And it seems to be working because if you're not conceding goals at one end then you're not going to lose games."
