STAFF at Pendle Borough Council can be safe in the knowledge their employer cares about their well-being after its health care policy was given the thumbs-up.
The scheme, which began with town hall employees being put through a 45-minute health check, was also extended to other groups linked to the council and more than 200 people have been monitored recently.
It could now be used more widely as other local companies have approached the Council for advice on setting up similar schemes.
Pendle Council's health policy also impressed the judges at the recent national Health Actioneer Awards where its success was recognised with a gold award -- the only one in the North West.
