ROVERS fan Jeff Jones is living proof that some football fanatics will go to great lengths to see their team -- he travels 250 miles to every home game!

Jeff's home is in the Welsh village of Aberkenfig near Bridgend and he's a season ticket holder at Ewood Park. He said: "This season I have been coming by train because of an eye operation and it takes me about six or seven hours.."

Jeff always stays at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, in Clayton-le-Moors and even keeps clothes there.

Jeff, a salesman for an insulation company, said: "I get to Blackburn at about 11am and go straight to the Dunkenhalgh where I get changed. I sometimes leave my suit here and travel with just my overnight bag. It's a lot easier."

Jeff has no Blackburn connection and only became a Rovers fan because of his sons Matthew, 17, and 19-year-old Jeff. Jeff promised them he would take them to a match -- and they chose Rovers because they liked the kit.

Jeff, who before his first footy game was not interested in football and was a keen rugby fan, took them to Ewood in the 94/95 season -- and was hooked.

He said: "I started watching the season they won the Premiership which was great for them but to be honest I wasn't that bothered but it would be fantastic to see them do it again."

Jeff, who sponsors the odd football match and actually sponsors Mark Hughes, "because he's Welsh," often takes his sons to the match but when Rovers face Huddersfield on Monday it will be a Jones Bank Holiday treat. Jeff said: "All the family will be going on Easter for the first time."
