WE wondered when Blackburn council would get their greedy hands on our car parks in Darwen.
Where does the idea come from, that market traders and most of the public want to pay for this small concession.
We signed a petition from the market traders, which has been ignored as usual, with thousands of signatures against paying fees.
We use the car parks four times a week for shopping, etc., and have not yet failed to find a place to park.
It is time Darwen councillors started to represent their own town and stop being yes-men to Blackburn.
We wish Blackburn would stop being obsessed with expensive showpieces and get their priorities right first.
Clean up some of the filthy streets and mend the potholes in the roads.
R ORMEROD (Mrs), Ambleside Drive, Darwen.
