POLICE are warning people in Great Harwood to be on their guard after bogus salesmen stole more than £100 from a man in the street.
The man was standing on the pavement in Heywood Road when three men pulled up in a light blue car and offered to sell him a digital video camera.
The victim refused but at the same time pulled out his wallet to see how much cash he had.
As he did so one of the men snatched the cash -- £115 -- and the car sped off.
Police are now warning that the thieves, described as white with Irish accents, could strike again unless people remain vigilant.
Sgt Brian Strickland, of Great Harwood Police, said: "People need to be wary of anybody offering electrical goods for sale from their cars as happened in this case.
"I would appeal for any witnesses or anybody with information to give us a ring on 01254 353697 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
This latest case, which happened on Tuesday, afternoon follows a series of similar incidents in January.
Back then people were conned into handing over cash to bogus salesmen pretending to sell electrical goods but in return received only bags of flour.
