ALMOST 100 singers and instrumentalists battled it out in the recent music festival at King Edward VII and Queen Mary School, Lytham.
Head of music, Andrew Barratt, conducted the preliminary round and 26 musicians were selected for the junior and senior final.
Junior winner was Dermot Crowley and senior winner was vocalist Alison Barratt, with pianist Jon Vernazza in second place.
"The standard of musicianship was extremely high from all the competitors" said adjudicator Mrs Ruth Dixon. "I have had a very enjoyable day and it has been a pleasure to see so many competitors working hard to communicate with their audience through the medium of music."
