SWINTON have a big doubt over the fitness of second row forward Phil Cushion ahead of their big clash at local rivals Rochdale Hornets.
If he fails a fitness test, coach Mike Gregory will probably give new signing Ian Hurst from Leigh his head.
Open side prop John-Paul Doherty is another doubt. He is suffering from a hernia problem.
Gregory has also released back row forward Ryan Staziker, who has joined Wigan amateur club Rose Bridge.
Oppenents Rochdale have added strong running utility player Dave Watson and tough tackling centre Matt Calland to their squad.
Watson will probably start at loose forward for Steve Gartland, with Calland
taking over at centre for Wayne McHugh.
Hat trick hero Joe Berry, who opened his account for Hornets with a three-try blast at Chorley, could also start in the second row.
Coach Martin Hall is well aware of the dangers that the Lions can offer said: "Swinton will be a very tough prospect. They have pulled off some good results this season when they were least expected, so we need to be on our
guard."
