IT is ludicrous that the Home Office is wasting thousands of pounds of tax-payers' money advertising that the public now have the right to vote by post in government elections.

If people choose to vote by this method, the forthcoming General Election will be reduced to little more than a lottery!

With yet more wildcat strikes by postal workers up and down the country, thousands of ballot papers will not be counted.

I suggest the Government scraps the postal vote immediately and only reintroduce it when a reliable postal service has been established.

And if Royal Mail's past performance is anything to go by, that will not be for some considerable time.

I recently received 129 items of mail that were posted more than two years ago! and among them were two letters clearly not addressed to me.
