GREATER Manchester Police's helicopter was scrambled on Monday (May 21) after three men stole a car in Bury.
It made a number of sweeps over Bury town centre around 1am after a Ford Escort, stolen earlier from the town's Lichfield Drive, was abandoned.
The helicopter, and police officers on the ground, attempted to trace the three men after they dumped the car and ran off on foot.
However, the trio made good their escape. Investigations are continuing.
