THATTO Heath Crusaders will be aiming to complete a prestigious double when they face Featherstone Lions in the final of the League Express National Cup at the Spotland Stadium, Rochdale on Bank Holiday Monday, May 28, kick-off 3pm.

The day promises to be a true festival of Rugby League, and BARLA and sponsors League Publications are aiming for a record attendance for the amateur game's premier event.

Crusaders were the first to make the final following their 12-6 defeat of Siddal in the semis.

The Conference League Division Two side have produced solid performances in both the league and cup this season. And after collecting the League trophy last Saturday want to add another piece of silverware to the sideboard to finish with a magnificent double.

Heath last won the cup in 1986/87 season when they defeated Heworth 15-8, and were runners-up to Saddleworth Rangers in the 1994 final.

Featherstone Lions of the National Conference League Division One, have already overcome a huge obstacle in the cup this season when they defeated current National Conference League Premier Division leaders and reigning champions, West Hull, 14-10 in the semi final.

A strongly fought defensive battle ensued, but the Lions held on to make their first final since the amalgamation of Jubilee, who won the cup 26-10 against West Hull in the 1984/85, Travellers Saints, and more recently Featherstone Miners Welfare.

The day kicks-off at 12.30pm with the Girls Under 15 National Cup Final, followed by a Mini-League display. There will also be bouncy castles, face painters and Rugby League mascots at the ground, providing a fun, family atmosphere for the event.
