I HAVE just read Hilton Dawson's claims that you can't trust the Tories or Liberals on higher education.
Mr Dawson states that he "fundamentally opposes top up fees" and wants Blair to state as much in the Labour manifesto.
However, Mr Dawson himself is not to be trusted on the issue of Higher Education. He explicitly told Lancaster University Student Union Officials that he would vote against the introduction of tuition fees. You can therefore imagine our surprise when he then voted with the Government to introduce tuition fees.
This has meant that since Labour and Mr Dawson introduced tuition fees, the total amount of debt of higher education students in Lancaster now amounts to £100 million since 1997. Can we trust him on top up fees or anything else for that matter?
