A RADCLIFFE firm has won a top award for being below average.
Trumeter on Milltown Street, which produces measuring equipment, received a British Safety Council Award at the National Safety Awards ceremony in London recently.
Only companies with below average accident rates are eligible, but Trumeter also had to prove it has sound safety policies and plans, a board level commitment to health and safety, and provide details of two significant health and safety advances for the year.
Sir Neville Purvis, director general of the British Safety Council, said: "The National Safety Awards highlight organisations that have reached the very top levels when it comes to health and safety.
"They are the mark of a proven and significant achievement in safety standards."
