EARLESTOWN won a low scoring game at home to St Johns in the WLCL at the weekend.
Batting first, the home team were never allowed to settle and runs were scarce. D. Ashton (21) and G. Foster (17) were the top batsmen as P.Foster (6-25) ripped through the tail with 'Town finishing on 78.
After the interval the visitors were always struggling to make the runs and when P. Jay (5-10) took three wickets in an over it swung the game towards the home side. J. Barron (2-14) finished the game with the total on 63 taking his 100th wicket for the club since his move from his native south.
This week Earlestown face Eccleston at Earle Street.
