FOUR members from the St Helens Striders competed in road races at the weekend around the North West.
Best performance came from Paul Demore who secured third spot overall in the Great North West Half-Marathon held at Leyland, recording a superb time of 74mins 12secs. This broke the club' record for this distance, a feat he has already achieved, when he took the 10k record four weeks ago.
Over at Liverpool, Gill Jones took part in the womens 10k race, running her usual consistent race to finish in a time of 38mins 16secs.
Meanwhile in the Chester Half-Marathon, Dennis Wharton began to find his form when he completed the 13.1 miles in a time of 82mins 05secs. Frank McAllister, still feeling the effects from London, ran a creditable 90mins 34secs.
