ON Saturday Eccleston were away to Singlehurst and batting first on a difficult wicket Eccleston were soon in trouble, losing wickets cheaply.
It was only when Holden (47) and Jaundrill (33 n.o.) came together that some respectability was restored, Eccleston reaching 119/6 in their allotted overs.
Singlehurst best bowler was Brown 3/41. Singlehurst's batters were no better suited in the pitch with only Moody (24) and Smith (18) contributing to their total of 103/9. Eccleston earning a winning draw. The pick of the Eccleston bowlers was Murphy with 5/19.
On Sunday Eccleston were away to Spring View. Electing to bat, Spring View struggled on a damp wicket against some containing bowling by Eccleston. Spring View reached 91 all out. The bowling was shared for Eccleston by Elliott 4/13 and Cross 4/32.
Eccleston were never really troubled in reaching this target and the Eccleston youngsters were 'coaxed' through to win by seasoned campaigner Tony Roberts 72 not out to finish on 96/4.
Byfield was the best Spring View bowler with 2/18 with Begg 1/6 and Hartley 1/6.
