LOOK who's having a splashing time in his latest quest to raise cash for the cancer relief charity!

It is of course Ramesh Gandhi, the director of fund-raising for the Macmillan Windmill Appeal. Mr Gandhi, a retired cardiology consultant, has taken up the national May Macmile Challenge for his charity by promising to swim at least one mile in four days. It includes swimming 16 lengths of Fleetwood Baths each day and he has already raised £267.

Other participants in the Macmile include Elaine Eyland from the opthalmic department of Blackpool Victoria Hospital, who is swimming seven miles over seven days. The information department at Victoria Hospital is also organising a three-legged pub crawl across Poulton tomorrow (Friday May 25).

Ex Radio Wave DJ Gary Burgess is also returning to his old station for this weekend only to take part in a massive mile-of-songs, which involves him broadcasting for a mammoth 72 hours over this coming weekend. Gary himself suffered from testicular cancer a few years ago and is always keen to promote this worthy cause.

Mr Gandhi is appealing for people to sponsor him or pledge him a donation for this wonderful cause, which is so close to his heart. If you think you can help call Mr Gandhi direct on (01253) 303142.
