NEW headteacher Jill Brennan is proud of her wonderful little school.
The teaching at St John's CE Primary, Mosley Common, is always good -- according to Ofsted inspectors.
The school, smaller than average with 115 pupils, has received an excellent report following the visit of three government inspectors in March.
Their report also shows that behaviour is first class as is the relationship between staff and pupils. The learning support assistants were also praised for their work.
Standards at the school, compared with similar schools, are well above average in English, science and maths.
Mrs Brennan said: "I am proud to have been appointed head of such a wonderful school. We shall continue working together to raise standards."
Both she and the inspectors praised the work of Mrs Joanna Walker, who was in charge during the inspection.
Chair of the governors Keith Worthington said: "We know that St John's is an excellent school with caring committed staff and it is good to see this endorsed in the Ofsted report."
