BLACKPOOL soccer fans are being urged to leave their cars at home and travel to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium for the crucial Division Three play-off final on Saturday (May 26) by other transport.

Big matches at the new city centre venue have created massive traffic jams in the past and Tangerine fans are being warned that parking in the vicinity is limited.

If you are going by car:

Share where possible

Follow the appropriate signs into the city, which will indicate routes and parking facilities specially dedicated to Pool fans

Park and ride facilities will be available. Leave the M4 at junction 33 and follow the designated parking signs to the park and ride sites for Pool. Buses will take you to within 10 minutes walk of the stadium

Leave sufficient time to complete your journey. The stadium is in the centre of the city with shops, pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Leave early and make a day of it, organisers urge

Roads around the stadium will be pedestriansed two hours before kick-off and for one hour after the final whistle. A traffic-free environment is aimed at allowing ease of access for fans.

If you are going by rail:

This is the best way to travel to the stadium, say the organisers. You will arrive at Cardiff Central Station just two minutes walk away from the ground. For further information contact the National Train Information Line on (0845) 748 4950 or Wales and West at Blackpool North Station in person or log on to www.wales andwest.co.uk

All rail tickets must be purchased in advance and must be accompanied by a reservation

If you are travelling by coach:

Your coach driver will find there is ample free coach parking within walking distance of the stadium.
