A BURNLEY man serving a sentence for house burglary is on the run after escaping from prison.
Dale Sherwin, 28, is described by the prison service as not believed to be dangerous but they have advised anyone seeing him not to approach him.
He is described as having blond hair and green eyes and with the word Dale tattooed on his right wrist.
He went missing from the Haverigg Prison, Millom, south Cumbria on Saturday morning.
On November 10, Sherwin, then of Chatburn Avenue, Burnley, and another man were sentenced to two and a half years for burglary in a house in the town.
They were heard by a 16-year-old and then chased and caught by the teenager, his mum's partner and a neighbour.
Sherwin's barrister described the incident as a "ham-fisted drunken escapade".
