VETERAN midfielder Stuart McCall could pave the way for a move to Turf Moor when he makes a decision on his Bradford future later this week.
The former Rangers star is thought to be a transfer target for Burnley boss Stan Ternent.
And he could give the Clarets chief the green light to make his move if he can't come to a compromise over a new contract with City chairman Geoffrey Richmond in the next 48 hours.
The tough-tackling Scot has so far rejected the terms offered by Bantams boss Jim Jeffries following City's relegation from the Premiership.
But he is prepared to enter one final round of talks in a bid to thrash out his future before finally deciding whether or not to consider a number of other options.
Clarets boss Ternent has refused to comment on whether or not McCall is on his summer hit-list.
But the 37-year-old Scot has been consistently linked with the Clarets.
And a move across the Pennines would appeal to the player if he can't come to an agreement with his present employers during the next few days.
