BAXENDEN professional Jonathan Harvey clocked in another top performance as his side beat Great Harwood.

He smashed 120 with the bat as Baxenden scored 229-4 and then took 5-60 as Great Harwood were dismissed for 163 with Liam Bones also taking 5-41.

Read saw their professional Akram Raza score 117 and Warren Eastham added 54 as they set Clitheroe a target of 242-6. The visitors were dismissed for 152 with 21-year-old Simon Coulter making a half century.

On a day when professionals had the upper hand, Padiham's paid player Faheem Fazal scored 85 and took five wickets. His side set Oswaldtwistle a total of 202-7 with Will Carr taking 5-84. Oswaldtwistle held out at 169-9 to prevent Padiham taking the extra points with Nicky Payne scoring 57.

Cherry Tree are top of the table with Lee Kennedy 61 not out in their 185-9. Edenfield were dismissed for 160 with Andy Williams on 49.

Barnoldswick captured their second victory of the season with Paul Beech scoring 82 not out as Graham Monk took 4-28. Ribblesdale Wanderers could only reach 150 in reply with Raja Arshad taking 5-46.

Neil Weaver scored 83 not out as Blackburn Northern reached 168-7 despite 5-50 from Graham Knowles. Whalley pushed them all the way with Phil Edmondson on 47 but Northern Ata-ur-Rehman taking 8-52. There was no play in the Earby v Settle game because of the foot and mouth outbreak.

All games were rained off on Sunday with performances of note from Dexter Fitton who scored 115 in Clitheroe's 205-8 before the rain came with Graham Monk taking 6-66 for Ribblesdale. Padiham professional Faheem Fazal scored 80 not out in his side's 113-2. His knock included eight sixes and five fours.
