CENTURY-making Matthew Mott hit his highest score of the season but it was to no avail as Rawtenstall crashed to defeat against Todmorden.

The Australian professional hit an unbeaten 111 which included 14 fours and a six but he lacked support as Todmorden's paid man Matthew Nicholson ran riot.

Only Mott's opening partner Andrew Payne, with 28, managed to put up any form of resistance as Nicholson picked up six wickets to help bowl Rawtenstall out for 174.

Earlier, Nicholson also played his part in Todmorden's 189-7 total with a handy 27 as Chris Dearden top-scored with 64.

Todmorden picked up 12 points but were deducted one for a slow over rate.

Enfield's Liam Jackson and professional Martin Van Jaarsveld put together an unbeaten second wicket partnership of 117 as Enfield cruised to victory against Haslingden.

Haslingden seemed to be on course for a decent total when they were on 87-1 --with opener Paul Blackledge going on to make 43.

But after professional Ian Austin was bowled by Van Jaarsveld for 18, Haslingden slumped to 125 all out.

The big South African and Neil Holmes picked up four wickets apiece.

In reply, Jackson (62) and Van Jaarsveld (61) guided Enfield to success.

It was a bowling partnership which led Bacup to victory at Burnley as Shaun Young and David Ormerod shared the honours to bowl the Turf Moor side out. The pair bowled throughout as paid man Young, who picked up three wickets, played the supporting role to Ormerod who enjoyed a five wicket haul.

Peter Thompson then hit an unbeaten 64, with Young adding a tidy knock of 36, as second-placed Bacup clinched their fifth win of the season.

Accrington were in fine all-round form to win at Colne.

Mos Ahmed (81) and Tama Canning (57) were the pick of the batsmen as the Thorneyholme Road side reached 218-9 with Jeff Ellis picking up four wickets.

Lenny Dewhurst and Damion Clarke did well to protect Accrington's total -- taking seven wickets between them -- with Clarke claiming three wickets in just 3.2 overs.

East Lancs roared to a seven wicket win over Lowerhouse at the Meadows thanks to a stunning second wicket stand of 171 between professional Brad Young and opener Andy Clague.

Chasing a target of 225, Young led the run blitz with an awesome display of batting, hammering a brilliant 98 on a real bowler's graveyard of a pitch as Lowerhouse sub professional Gary Yates was single-handedly taken apart.

The powerful Aussie smashed 38 runs off just two of Yates's overs and struck a total of 12 fours and four sixes in his entertaining 90 ball knock.

Then, once he finally departed, Clague then seized the gauntlet, stroking his way to an unbeaten 103 as the Blackburn club passed their victory target inside 43 overs.

Earlier in the day, Yates had starred with the bat, hitting a superb 105 not out which had featured 10 fours and a six.

Nelson chalked up another impressive victory against Church thanks largely to professional Wade Wingfield.

Chasing a victory target of 183, Wingfield and opening partner Jonatahn Finch put on 56 for the first wicket to get their side off to an impressive start.

Then, as wickets began to tumble at regular intervals, the classy South African held his side together with a classy 71, which featured 10 boundaries, as the visitors wrapped up maximum points with two wickets to spare.

Khurran Nazir had starred with the ball, picking up 6-62 as Church were skittled for 182, despite a plucky 85 from skipper Alec Holt.
