TWELVE artists have abandoned their studios over the past 12 months to work in the community as part of the Year of the Artist.
During that time the indoor market at Rawtenstall became an instant gallery with every available space sporting artwork of some kind.
Market Action group chairman, John Whiteley, said: "Each artist has brought their own style and interpretation into play resulting in a show which is a credit to all concerned."
A finale display was on show in the market cafe on Saturday attended by deputy mayor, Coun James Eaton.
The Shawforth Majorettes provided outdoor entertainment.
The 'Year of the Artist' was carried out across the North West in locations ranging from buses to football stadiums with funding from the North West Arts Board.
