SCULPTURE culture is set to continue in Radcliffe with the news that another major work of art has been commissioned.
Jack Wright, the man responsible for the £15,000 Nailing Home sculpture in Smyrna Street, has been asked by the Irwell Sculpture Trail to create an entrance sculpture to Outwood Country Park.
"It's fantastic to be asked to do this and I am very much looking forward to it. It's a very good site," he said.
Mr Wright is about to start consulting with local schools and community groups who will have a strong input into how the final sculpture will look. He also hopes to arrange a number of workshops where ideas can be discussed.
And fans of Nailing Home will be delighted to know that a stylish postcard of it is now available from Bury Museum and Art Gallery and Bury Tourist Information Centre.
The new commission will be the fifth sculpture to be installed in the town in recent years.
