YOUNGSTERS from Preston College's Sports Centre are celebrating their success in the Unsquashable Sportsmatch SRA Junior Skills Awards Scheme.
The scheme is a fun way to recognise the ability of young players and there are seven awards: one to three star, bronze, referee, silver and gold awards.
The youngsters attend the Junior Club on Saturdays and Sports Centre manager John Gibson coaches them individually. They started in November 2000 and by March, many had already achieved bronze level.
John said: "This scheme is a great fun way of introducing youngsters into the game. Some entered the SRA U15 Junior Graded Tournament this week and competed with other youngsters from the North West."
Anyone interested in taking up squash should contact the Preston College Sports Centre Reception on 225420 or John Gibson on 225477. Sessions are held from 11am to 2pm on Saturdays.
