FESTIVE plans to make Christmas one to remember are already under way.
Theatre lovers are being invited to follow the yellow brick road for Darwen Library Theatre's December production of The Wizard of Oz.
News of the pantomime was announced by bosses at Blackburn with Darwen Council just days after revealing details of the theatre group's first ever outdoor performance in Bold venture Park in July.
Actors and actresses will be enticing the audience around the park as they they perform JRR Tolkien's 'The Hobbit'.
The council's principal arts officer Rob Howell said details of the traditional Christmas event had been released early so people could book well in advance.
He said: "It is not unusual to make this decision so early. A lot of schools like to know before the summer holidays what is on at Christmas so we decided to let the public know as well.
"More details will be published in the autumn and winter leaflet which will have information about times and dates."
