A HAIR salon proprietor is offering a reward after the second burglary at his premises in a week.

George Kenyon, who owns Plus 2 Hair and Plus 2 Beauty Salons, on Manchester Road, Haslingden, said: "I am just weary with it all."

His salon was broken into last Friday when more than £600 worth of professional colours, perms and equipment including hair dryers were stolen.

He had just replaced the stolen items and locks when burglars struck again taking £687 worth of goods.

But most upsetting was the theft of items belonging to two of Gordon's stylists.

He said: "They stole a bag belonging to Stephanie Barlow who has worked with me for five years.

"Stylists have their own personal scissors and brushes and they will have them often from training. Scissors can cost between £45 and £300. They also stole other property belonging to Michelle-Zoe Woodward. It has really upset the staff."

Gordon said he had now replaced the locks on the premises three times in a week.

He said: "I am prepared to offer a reward of a couple of hundred pounds leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who have carried out these burglaries.

"I can't believe how tidy the second raid was. The salon has been left very neat. I would like anyone who is offered professional hair salon equipment, colours or perms to contact either myself of the police."

Gordon said he hoped that the CCTV cameras planned for Haslingden, paid for partly by Action for Haslingden Partnership, would come on line soon and put an end to town centre crime.

Anyone with information can contact Gordon on 01706 227725 or Rossendale CID on 01706 237442.
