THE sweet smell of success is pervading The Perfume Shop in Blackburn's shopping centre.
The store's parent company Merchant Retail has reported a 34 per cent increase in profits to £8 million for the past 12 months.
Chief executive Philip Newton said the group, which saw turnover increase to £111 million, plans to open an additional 50 stores throughout the UK over the next three years.
