BURNLEY target Andy Morrison today insisted he won't be rushed into making a decision on his future as a host of clubs battle it out for his signature.

Sources close to the player have revealed the Clarets are among a number of clubs who are said to be interested in landing the former Blackburn defender.

But the tough-tackling 30-year-old is in no rush to get fixed up after being granted a free transfer by Manchester City.

"I spoke to Kevin Keegan last week and he confirmed I could go on a free transfer," said Morrison.

"I expect something to happen soon.

"It is nice that a few clubs have shown an interest and I hope to repay one of them on the pitch.

"It has been clear for some time that I had a limited future at City and now I will take my time before deciding my next move."

Burnley boss Stan Ternent has been linked with the former Blackpool stopper in the past.

And, with veteran centre back Mitchell Thomas now coming towards the end of his career, he has identified the recruitment of a defender as a top priority.

Morrison would certainly appear to fit the bill after leading City to back to back promotions before injuries and new arrivals at Maine Road saw him lose his first team place.

But the Inverness-born player is currently mulling over a number of offers, which include clubs in his native Scotland along with Stoke and Cardiff.
