WORSHIPPERS in the Accrington Team Ministry of Christ the King are praying for sunshine on Sunday June 10 when they set off on their annual walking day.
This year two processions, each headed by a hymn playing band, will set off at 2pm and later converge outside the Town Hall before heading to St James' together.
The walk of witness has been an indispensable part in the life of the church in Accrington for more than 50 years and around 500 people are expected to attend.
In addition to the Team Ministry parishes people from other churches, including Christ Church, Antley Methodist, Church Kirk and Whalley Road United Reform Church, will also join to proclaim their faith.
For the last few years poor weather has meant that the St James' service has been held indoors but this year it is hoped that the weather will be good enough to hold the service outside.
Congregations of St James' and St Paul's will meet at St Paul's, Plantation Street, and be led by the Haslingden and Helmshore Band.
Those from St Mary Magdalen's, St Peter's and St Andrew's will leave from St Mary Magdalen's, Devonshire Street, led by the Accrington Pipe Band.
