READING the articles on the Warehouse nightclub and the way the police handled the situation does not surprise me at all.

I spend some of my time on weekends in Lancaster in pubs and clubs and have a great time, people are friendly beer is cheep what more could you want, I also spend time out in Bradford, Leeds, Chester etc on weekends people not as friendly and beer not as cheep but you don't feel intimidated by the local police force.

For some reason Lancaster police department think they run a big hard city like Manchester, Glasgow, London suburbs etc. They try to clamp down on drunks on street, good less the better, but the way they have started to treating the clubs in the city has become a bit OTT, clamping down on drugs and violence is excellent most people would agree, but keep the innocent people out of it before they lose faith. Shortening opening hours while other cities are increasing them to 6am, throwing door security in the back of the pick up van if they happen to be helping someone leave the premises, no other police force do this... they try to get to know the door security staff and work with them to stop trouble, making life hard for clubs to have means the normally cheerful atmosphere is slowly being lost, because club owners don't know what the police are going to be doing next. So they bring in non friendly door men who man handle anyone they feel the need to, which then brings tension in and out of the club which could break out into a more volatile situation. It's a vicious circle. Will it get worse?
