A SOCCER player from St Annes has headed off to sunnier climes to check out the footballing skills of young American hopefuls.
Tim Greaves (right) of Wood Street, has won a ten-week contract to coach football in North Carolina.
The ambitious 20-year-old won the contract from his sponsors Challenger Sports in February.
Before leaving last week, he told The Citizen: "I'm very excited and it is a good opportunity for the future. I already want to return there next summer, even though I haven't left England yet!"
