OUT of the hundreds of Save Our Shakers donations the Bury Times has received, we reckon there's no one younger to contribute than Chloe Waddington, writes Steve Canavan.

For the youngster has stumped up her fiver even though she weighs in at just 7lb 9oz and was born just nine days ago!

Well, granted, the tiny tot didn't actually write out the cheque herself. Her grandad and huge Bury fan John Waddington did it on her behalf.

"The whole family are Shakers fans so it's the natural thing to do," said John, of Holcombe Brook, a lifelong supporter who produced the Bury matchday prgramme in the 1980s.

"Chloe must be the youngest person to donate although you never know. We might have started something here!"

Chloe maybe a Bury fan then but she won't be able to watch them much.

She was born in Texas to parents Andy and LeVon. Andy is John's son, who left Bury as a student to go to Camp America and - after meeting LeVon - never came back.

"He's still a big fan and he's already donated his fiver," added John. "I have to update him on what's going on every week via the internet. In fact I send him so much about the club he probably knows more than I do."

Thanks to the Waddington family for their support and look out for Chloe in November when she is coming to Bury to visit her grandparents.

The Bury Times is assured that during the trip she will be taken to Gigg Lane to watch a match. Poor girl ...
